But after becoming a mum (then going through breast cancer and reassessing what really mattered), I knew I didn’t want to go back to the long hours, the commutes, or building someone else’s dream.

Something that was more fulfilling and more aligned with the season of life I was in.
We live in a small coastal, rural community in New Zealand, where my husband and I own a kiwifruit orchard and raise our three young children.
I knew I still wanted to do meaningful, strategic work, but I wanted to do it on my terms.
I wanted the freedom to be present for school drop-offs and beach walks, but also the satisfaction of contributing financially and growing something of my own.
Coming from a marketing background, I had always known about copywriting.
I’d even worked with copywriters in previous corporate roles and at advertising agencies.
But I’d never seriously considered it as a career path for myself, let alone one I could do from home, on my own terms.
